Get Basic Health

Get Basic Health was born from my desire to improve my own health and to find solutions for chronic pain issues I experience. While deployed over the last ten years of my military experience, my health options were somewhat limited. After more than two decades in the military, and continuing after I retired, I realized my health had been moving in a slow downward spiral. Additionally, I had allowed chronic pain, depression, inactivity and the weight-gain that accompanies them, to gain a strong foothold in my life.

I decided I didn’t want my life to continue on this track, and began searching for ways to do more than manage chronic pain, which has been an intermittent companion for many years. The pain I have experienced drifts up and down in level, at different times in my life. It can be intermittent, or constant, and often keeps me from activities I enjoy. I want to be able to be active without pain, or the fear of the onset of pain, and I want to be able to travel, enjoying the journey without cutting the adventure short because of fatigue and lassitude that often accompany pain.

I no longer want to merely tolerate pain, medicate it or continue with some of the short-lasting physical treatments I resort to when pain was most severe or reared its head in my life. I began my search for solutions to my chronic pain. Solutions that would allow me to begin doing the things that gave me comfort, enjoyment and peace of mind when I was able to do them between the return of intermittent pain.

Through these pages, I plan to document my continuing search for better health.

I hope, on these pages, you will find support for your search, your own solutions, and perhaps some useful information, to help you on your own health journey to a place of better health.
