The ideas in this area will help us look as our lives as they are right now. Are we already doing things in a healthy way? Is there room for change? Are there habits that no longer serve us that we could release? What does a healthy lifestyle look like?
- Do you need to make some Changes? Many of us have habits that no longer serve us, or are outright unhealthy. Are you a smoker, has your use of alcohol ever been something that gets in the way of relationships or activities you miss, are there other things you do or habits that limit your time? Choose a habit in your life. Does it support you? How? If not, decide if you want to keep it. If not, choose three actions or things you need to do differently to change or release this habit. When you are ready, take the first action.
- Get Organized! Clutter and disorganization can be distractions in our lives, and perhaps an indication that not everything is ok. Allowing things to pile up may be a sort of coping mechanism, it may be due to laziness, it can be from a focus on other priorities, or it might even go so far as to be a disorder. Have you become too comfortable with your clutter?
Where do you find yourself on the spectrum between organized and overwhelmed? Take a look at your surroundings. Is there a cluttered area, a place that you’d like to change? Are willing to choose an area to clean, clear or organize and then maintain? There are many systems out there to help with organization. It is more important that we decide or choose to take action. Getting organized may be easier than you think, once you get started. Check the information section for book titles to fit your situation. - Bored? Do you often find that one day seems to blend into another, and before you know it, you’ve forgotten what happened? Is this how you thought you would be spending your time? Do you have a bucket list? Well, what about an action jar? List activities you could do that would help make your time memorable. Write your ideas down on paper and put them in a jar or a bowl. Activities like a hike to a new spot you haven’t visited before, research a new hobby or craft, call someone with whom you’ve lost touch, check out a new restaurant… Draw out an activity once or more each week. Once you’ve completed the idea, decide if you want to add it back into the jar. Let’s start making memories!
